The Trustees of the Adopt a Potter Charitable Trust are delighted to announce the award of their second apprenticeship. This goes to master potter Micki Schloessingk, a renowned maker of wood-fired salt-glaze ceramics, and to apprentice potter Fleen Doran, who graduates this Spring from the University of Wales, Cardiff. Fleen will now spend a year with Micki at her beautiful pottery on the Gower Peninsula.

The first apprenticeship awarded by the Trust on its inception is now drawing to a close, and has been a tremendous success, judging from the feedback from both master potter Jeremy Steward and apprentice Sheila Herring. Sheila has made some lovely mugs, designed by Jeremy, for Adopt a Potter to sell at Earth & Fire Rufford Craft Centre and Art in Clay Hatfield House, so look out for these limited edition mugs if you attend either show.
